Since 2015 Chris & David have been experimenting in alternative education by taking over spaces and curating events for curious New Yorkers. From cafe residencies to institutional takeovers and cultural trips throughout Latin America, we love activating spaces in unexpected ways.

Café Events with Conversation, Writing Prompts, Dinner, and Wine

We partner with local cafés to create intimate evening events combining thought-provoking conversations and writing prompts with food and wine. These gatherings boost foot traffic and sales while enriching the community.

Corporate Takeovers for Creative Companies

Kickstarter, Blue Apron, and WeWork invited us to host unique employee events at their headquarters, blending networking with creative programming to energize their teams.

Friday Night Residency at Strand's Rare Books Room

In collaboration with Strand Bookstore, we transformed Friday nights into a vibrant blend of literature and community. Sponsored by Sixpoint Brewery and Jenny & Francois Wine, we invited professors, artists, and creatives to host engaging events in the Rare Books Room. For over two years, this series redefined literary gatherings in NYC.

Rethinking Democracy Series at BAM

At the Brooklyn Academy of Music, we hosted a four-part series exploring democracy through diverse lenses—from ancient Greece to today’s two-party system. This round-table discussion brought together a multicultural audience for a shared journey of discovery.

Monthly Salons at Chandelier Creative

Our monthly salon series at Chandelier Creative’s lavish Soho office brought together their employees and our community for evenings of creative exchange, fostering collaboration across industries.

Pop-Up University at Brooklyn Boulders

We turned a rock-climbing gym into a nighttime university, offering classes like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Feminism” and “Stranger Things and Cold War Nostalgia.” This creative partnership maximized unused spaces and engaged a new audience.

Upstate Retreats & International Trips

Nestled in Wassaic, NY, OlioHouse became a weekend escape where strangers turned into friends. With lectures, film classes, group meals, meditation, and dance parties, we recaptured the spirit of youthful curiosity.

Since 2017, we’ve hosted immersive cultural trips to Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala, and Colombia, learning from DJs, professors, and local artists. These journeys inspire participants during transitional moments, fostering personal growth and renewed perspective.
